In my distress I called to God

It’s important that when I find myself in distress, I will find my voice and express the troubling feeling that is moving through me. In my expression there is truth and beauty that can lift me up and open me to Divine flow. In this way my request is answered; my sincere question calls forth a response that fills me.

When the great forces of change are shifting the mountains of your life, when everything you thought was solid is now in flux … what happens for you? Can you find ease even in uncertainty? When the geography of your life keeps transforming, can you find your balance? When the whole world is forever changing, can you find your place in it? Can you find your joy in the adventure?

From the rising of the sun to its setting
Praised is the name of God. (Psalm 113:3)

The sun represents consciousness. As the light of awareness rises, we are bathed in that radiance and awakened to the presence of the Divine. As our consciousness expands, our lives become an expression of praise for God who is our Creator and who illuminates the truth of our connection to ALL, to BEINGNESS itself.

Oh you who stand in awe of The Mystery, trust in that Mystery!
It is your help and protection. (Psalm 115:11)

What a blessing it is to be given a glimpse of the Great Divine Mystery! We can plant that awesome glimpse inside our hearts like a seed, and it will grow within us and blossom as our strength and beauty. When we nurture that seed, it will grow into our wide perspective, protecting us from attitudes of constriction or cynicism.

The Beginning of Wisdom

Wisdom begins in reverent wonder of the One. (Psalm 111:10)

We stand empty and open, before the great Mystery and admit how much we don’t know. There is a choice now: we can either tremble in fear and anxiety before that Mystery or we can lift ourselves up into reverent wonder. It is that place of emptiness that allows us to be filled with wisdom from on high. It is that radical amazement that lets us take the stance of endless curiosity.
