May God give us strength and the blessing of Peace. (Psalm 29:11)

Oh God, your voice thunders in great beauty, shattering all our plans and conceptions, leaving us vulnerable, defenseless yet filled with awe at the majesty of Your great power that reverberates through all Creation. We attune ourselves to this Divine vibration, opening to a nascent strength that emerges through our faith. In knowing that strength, we open to the blessing of peace, the blessing of wholeness, which is found in experiencing our interconnectedness with all of Creation.

In Freedom and Grace

And as for me I will walk in whole-hearted simplicity;
Free me and let your grace flow to me. (Psalm 26:11)

When I walk in whole-hearted simplicity, I am walking in complete authenticity, and yet I feel so completely vulnerable. I am surrounded by corruption and depravity. All around me immorality has been normalized. I asked to be freed from its influence and impact. I ask to be protected by your blessing and connected up to the flow of grace that is your Presence.

I will describe Your essence to my brethren,
and praise You in my community. (Psalm 22:23)

This world can seem like a dangerous place, and yet my awareness of God’s presence saves me again and again. I can strengthen that awareness through my heartfelt and grateful expression. My relationships are strengthened when I communicate what is most important to me. The expression of my faith is an inspiration to others that may be struggling. My song of praise is a force of encouragement in difficult times.

The Divine Power of Our Song

Passionately lifting up the God-spark, we sing and chant your power through us. (Psalm 21:14)

The God-spark is in us, though sometimes it is dim, hidden and buried under layers of defense. When we lift up that Divine essence in song, God sings through us, and we become healers for the world. It takes unself-conscious courage and faith to sing this way and let God come through us. But when we can get our egos out of the way, we are filled with Divine strength and beauty that will overflow into the world.

May God grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill your every dream.
We will sing at your deliverance. (Psalm 20:5-6)

Psalm 20 gives us this blessing that we can lavish on each other. This practice requires us to look deeply into the heart of another and see their vast potential unfolding through the flow of grace. And then we celebrate their fulfilment as if it’s already here. Because it is happening right now.
